Food per se doesn't cause cancer. But the adulteration in food cause cancer.
In those days we saw adulteration of water in milk, stone in grains. But there are other invisible ways of adulterating food. It is important for us to hence make wise choices.
Due to the pressure on any stakeholder to preserve a food product longer than it's real shelf time, due to the competition in business some are forced to create/ generate appealing products. Due to a little greed to make more money some business generate foodstuff in a more artificial way. All these might create some disturbance in a human body.
We should understand that changing a natural path by any means will never do good to a system. The human body is designed to digest foodstuff that contains carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.

Atoms found in all life on Earth include hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, and sulfur as the dominant components, with trace amounts of many other elements.
But now due to all the above mentioned forced circumstances, our foodstuff include much of those trace elements and less of those dominant components. Resulting in our human system struggling to learn a way to digest such substance.
A recent random good search gave me a big shock. I would like to share it with all of you. I know about this word olestra, hence it started off with a google search. As explained by Wikipedia Olestra (also known by its brand name Olean) is a fat substitute that adds no fat, calories, or cholesterol to products. It has been used in the preparation of otherwise high-fat foods such as potato chips, thereby lowering or eliminating their fat content.

now from the above line. nontoxic - as we all know is not a poison. but genotoxic - which is toxic to a gene, carcinogenic - this means compounds that may cause cancer.

we all know that Google is just a repository of data and nobody claims responsibility for its authenticity. But in this modern era, we human being are so tempted to talk to google our home guide. Imagine what happens when someone hears this word and do the same search that I just did. As far as I know, when you have your answer on the webpage, we do not go into the links and spend hours on reading some random topic. So there is all possibility that we might end up believing something in a total wrong sense. This small example explains the kind of devastation we all might end up with our limited knowledge and from the information on any food labels.
Hence it is important for us to step back and think if something is against nature. Nature has its own way of defence. It will rectify itself. we don't have to stimulate it with pesticides and fertilizers. All these chemical inventions are probably to rectify our own way to correct our mistakes.
we should think if tomato does not rot after two weeks but still labelled as no additives. At the same time, we have to change our attitude of demanding much as a consumer. We should accept when a tomato loses its freshness by the time it comes to a city from a countryside farm so that the retailers are not forced to spray/ colour to keep its freshness. I would be glad if we all start to think and change this one thing.
